How would career planning assessment & advice help me with choices that'll affect my working life for years ahead?

Ambitious professional seeking resources for career planning assessment and advice

What will career planning advice do for you?  The well organised few use career planning assessments to achieve their career goals and personal ambitions (they’re notably successful even when there aren’t many jobs around).  The rest of us only book career planning assessments when we’ve hit a crisis and want professional advice to put our careers back on track!

Whether you’re seeking career planning advice because a job move’s gone badly wrong or because rigorous career planning assessment will help you fulfil your potential, we’ll work with you to identify the full range of your options, evaluate which choice is most likely to meet your needs and plan how you get where you want to be on the career ladder.  Career planning advice takes into account any wider issues of concern to you – for example, achieving a better work-life balance is of key importance to many clients (especially for those with children or dependent relatives).

Your career planning assessment involves a really thorough review of you, your career to date and your personal situation.  The career planning advice helps you determine your career-related strengths, what types of job / role suit you best , what level on the career ladder you should be aiming for and how you want ”work” and the rest of your life to fit together.

The career planning assessment includes psychometric analysis of your personality, abilities and job interests, together with the implications these have when planning your career development within today’s rapidly changing workplace.

As relatively few of us seek career planning advice until we’re aged 28 – 50 plus years, each individual brings to their career planning assessment meeting a unique package of skill sets, qualifications and work experience.  Your career coach has plenty of experience in developing career plans for career changers to maximise the benefit they gain from their earlier work history and qualifications.  In many instances, good career planning advice will help you change career without doing any full-time retraining courses or taking a drop in seniority.

Your detailed career planning advice is individually written, covering each topic of special concern to you (eg would self-employment suit you? Should you change your career path - or just your employer?).

Saturday afternoon career planning assessment meetings are available.

Some employers provide time off during the working week and /or fund the career planning assessment and advice.  They see this career planning assessment and advice programme as a useful adjunct to their in-house management development and succession planning programmes.

- a thorough, psychometric-based assessment of you and your unique career-related strengths, work preferences and potential

- an assessment of the career development options open to you and your career coach's advice on those which offer the best "fit" with your individual strengths and weaknesses, ambitions and personal resources.

Requests for more advice on career planning or direction are generally met through the free career planning advice Helpline. The career planning advice Helpline is provided by email and telephone and is available outside of normal working hours for those unable to 'phone during the working week.
